PROP 8
Hawaii did not have a prop 8 vote, but as I sit here 3,500 miles away I hear mention of prop 8 supporters say that it is the religious homophobes that did this and they must be stopped. If this was the case then Obama would not be the president elect! Many religious supported Obama, but not prop 8, many non religious people voted to ban gay marraige. So to hear these folk saying garbage like that makes me angry. Except the fact that most people do not want gay marraige. If gays want to incite a war with religious folk like mormons, Christians then fine, but lets not forget that the muslims feel the same way. So stop pointing the finger at one group with H8Red when you as well need to practice what you preach....just as the Christians need to as well. Remember the words of Jesus "If you only love those who love you what benefit is that?" We are called by God to love all people, regardless of what they believe. That does not mean we have to support what they believe(PROP 8)
NANCY PELOSI! Fairness doctrine!
By the way Nancy Pelosi (Speaker of the House) Supports the Fairness doctrine. What a violation of FREE Speech! Many of the people coming into power these days want to reinstate the fairness doctrine. What the!! These guys want all contrasting points to be shared, and to be forced to do so is a contradiction of what the USA stands for. What a joke, keep your eyes peeled we have not seen the last of this!
The Fairness Doctrine was a policy of the United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC) that required the holders of broadcast licenses to present controversial issues of public importance and to do so in a manner that was honest, equitable, and balanced. It should not be confused, but often is, with the Equal Time rule. The Fairness Doctrine deals with matters of public importance; the Equal Time rule only deals with political candidates.
The United States Supreme Court upheld the Commission's general right to enforce the Fairness Doctrine where channels were limited, but the courts have generally not ruled that the FCC is obliged to do so.[1] In 1987, the FCC abolished the Fairness Doctrine, prompting some to urge its reintroduction through either Commission policy or Congressional legislation.[2]
